HMS Sovereign of the Seas
Jose Joy Colon spent about five months building this wooden model ship, the HMS Sovereign of the Seas in his garage at his home in Coral Gables. Jose built it for his son, Jose Joy. The British Royal Navy ship designed in the 1630's by Phineas Pett was the first ship to have three full gun decks, carrying 102 guns on the orders of King Charles I. No expense was spared in her construction. The ship was later renamed Sovereign and Royal Sovereign. Friday, March 13, 2015.
